Humans & Dragons

Classes

Classes are titles or statuses humans are given for the lifestyle they live.
Dragon Riders: the brave and noble. As the name says, these are humans that own dragons and ride them in both the sky and on the ground. They either receive their dragons as hatchlings or still in their eggs. Some humans even capture their dragons in the wild. Dragon Riders often compete in races. Riders are well known for having a knack for dragons and knowing how they emotionally work.
-
Dragon Breeders: the kind and protective. They work in nurseries, taking care of dragonesses' eggs and raising hatchlings until someone buys them. Many Dragon Riders get their dragons this way. Children too.
-
Dragon Hunters: the prideful and strong. Those of this class are usually the wealthiest people in the kingdom. They hunt down dragons with bounties on their heads though they rarely ever kill the dragon.
-
Dragon Slayers: the cruel and sadistic. They're known for having the darkest hearts. They slaughter dragons either out of vengeance or just for the fun of bloodshed. Most don't care how rare the breed is, or even if they're still hatchlings. They get a thrill out of making them suffer.
-
Dragon Morphers: the intelligent dragons. This is more of a species instead of a class. Though rare, some dragons are born with intelligence equal to a human's. And that gives them the ability to morph into a human form. Dragon Morphers are more common for certain breeds. Morphers tend to live in civilizations like humans and are lead by an alpha to keep order. Some Dragon Morphers live with humans in the same civilization with an equal amount of numbers.

Dragon Breeds

Shadow Dragons: Uncommon breed. They are said to be the descendants of Hakai, sharing the beast's jet black scales and fiery colored eyes. They only have two hind legs, their front legs being connected to their wings. They let out a loud screech and hisses instead of roaring. They are the most aggressive breed and only live in the darkest places, mainly the Ashen Forest. They are the only breed known to live in packs. This breed is very feral, nearly impossible to tame. Depending on gender, their height ranges from 5ft to 6ft. The only element they can use is fire.

-

White Dragons: Rare breed. They have beautiful, snow white scales that sparkle like diamonds in the sunlight. Even their eggs look like that. They look very enchanting and can capture any heart. Most of them are females, making it why they're pretty rare. They get from 7ft to 10ft depending on gender. The elements they can use are wind and blue fire.

-

Ice Dragons: Common breed. Said to be distant relatives of White Dragons, sharing their pale scales. Except Ice Dragons' scales are more of dim shades of gray, and much more rigid than majestic. They live within the snowy mountains to the west. They are rather reserved but quick to become territorial. Ice Dragons' height ranges from 11ft to 13f depending n gender. The elements they use are ice and blue fire.

-

Earth Dragons: Common breed. One of the most dangerous breeds there are. They're not as aggressive as Shadow Dragons but they are very powerful with it comes to using their element. They're able to swing and lift big boulders and even able to create earthquakes and cause spikes to come out of the ground. They are formidable fighters even for skilled slayers. They are a battle-hungry breed. Their scales are tinted from brown to green and can easily camouflage themselves in a forest terrain. Their heights range from 13ft to 15ft depending on genders. Their elements are manipulating rocks and the ground.

-

Season Dragons: Uncommon breed. Unlike other dragons, their scales change color by the season. They have antlers that grow leaves and flowers in the spring and summer but then the leaves fall off in autumn and winter. They also have ears like a deer, tentacle like whiskers, and fur along their spine and tail that also changes color by the season. They are very skittish and timid, living deep in the forest to the south. Season Dragons have a very special ability. In their presence, vegetation grows fast with many flowers and the air smells fresh yet sweet. Even in the winter. Apart from their ability, their element is only wind and it is very weak. They have no wings so they often run and hide on sight. Their height ranges from 3ft to 4ft by gender.

-

Blood Dragons: Rare breed. The most slyest and clever. Their scales are a solid red color either being scarlet, ruby, or crimson. They only drink blood. They don't even finish the carcass of their prey, they just drain it dry by sucking out the blood. They'll drink from any animal but mostly big ones like deer, cattle, and horses. And sometimes even humans. They have snakelike fangs. These are a smart breed of dragons, and some learn how to morph into a human form. When they first hatch their immune systems are very weak and they often die from illness when hatchlings which is the reason why they're so rare. Blood Dragons usually hunt at night. Their elements are fire and ice. Their height ranges from 6ft to 7ft depending on gender.

-

Golden Dragons: Uncommon breed. Like White Dragons, they have captivating scales that are the color of gold and they look like they glow when the sunlight reflects off of them. This breed often belongs to riders of royalty. They have thick muscled, massive bodies that make them very powerful in battle. Their roars sound like a lion's. They're often intelligent like Blood Dragons so some learn how to morph into a human form. And even in their human forms they're attractive. Their height ranges from 6ft to 7ft depending on gender. Their elements are fire and electricity.

-

Torrent Dragons: Common breed. They always live near big bodies of water, the sea to the east is populated with them. Their scales are cyan colors and their bodies are sleek yet somewhat slimy. But they also gleam in the sunlight as well. Many of their scales are fins on their tails, feet, spines, ect. They don't have wings. Though they have lungs, they spend most of their lives underwater. They are swift swimmers, reaching 40mph when swimming under water. Their elements are water and ice. They heights range from 5ft to 6ft depending on gender.

-

Gate Dragons: Common breed. The most seen with humans. Gate Dragons are very friendly and gentle towards humans. Tender and protective over children as well. Even becoming aggressive when their owner is threatened or in danger. They are extremely loyal to their owners, even sacrificing themselves to keep their human safe. They become a life long companion as well as your protector, and your best friend. "Gate" simplifies "gateway" since they are the breed that has lead to a deep and bonding relationship between humans and dragons. Their scales color range from gray, to blue, to purple, and to orange. Their elements range from fire, to electricity, to ice, and to wind. Some Gate Dragons can wield two of the elements. It's rare for them to wield three.

-

Mutts/Mongrels/Half-breeds: Though not extremely common, dragons being multiple breeds can sometimes morph if they have the genes of an intelligent dragon breed in them.

The Celestial Years
Dragons of Legend

The dragons from folklore and stories of old. Though considered myths, the two first dragons to ever exist was the Sun Dragon and the Moon Dragon. The Sun Dragon had the power to bring day, to make the weather sunny, bring warm seasons, make vegetation plentiful, and growth in populations. He was known as the Guardian of Life. As for the Moon Dragon, she brought night, made the weather rain, bring cold seasons, made vegetation hard to grow, and deceased populations. She was known as the Guardian of Death, though that did not make her an evil dragon. She was the opposite of the Sun Dragon so that the two could keep balance in the world to create peace and harmony.

***

The Sun Dragon and Moon Dragon became mates and had two eggs. One egg white and the other egg black. The dragon that hatched from the white egg was a white dragon with pale blue eyes. He was known as the Day Dragon and he inherited his father's powers of life, giving him the ability of replenish. The dragon that hatched from the black egg was an ebony dragoness with blood red eyes and she inherited her mother's abilities of death. She was known as the Night Dragon and had the powerful ability of destruction.

***

The brother and sister couldn't see eye-to-eye on the course the world should take and they ended up battling for centuries, destroying the peace that their parents tried so hard to keep. Until finally the Sun Dragon and Moon Dragon decided to attempt to stop the fight. But out of blinded fury, the Night Dragon killed their parents by accident. It was clear that the Night Dragon's powers were far stronger than both her brother and parents. After their parents' death, the siblings took on the roles as the next guardians. The Day Dragon became the Guardian of Replenish, rebuilding the broken. While the Night Dragon became the Guardian of Destruction, erasing the unneeded.

***

The Day Dragon and Night Dragon started their separate breeds and the current breeds are said to be descended from them. Golden Dragons, Earth Dragons, Season Dragons, and Gate Dragons had the blood of the Sun Dragon in them. As for Blood Dragons, Torrent Dragons, White Dragons, and Ice Dragons have the blood of the Moon Dragon in them. Legend has it that Season Dragons' abilities are just a fraction of the Day Dragons' abilities. However, both the Day Dragons and Night Dragons breeds went extinct nearly a million years ago.
